What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Graduate Diploma in Communication (Corporate Sector) aims to enable public relations practitioners (with an undergraduate qualification) to build on their applied skills and learning. The programme aims to ensure its graduates can manage significant events or specialised roles in an organisation or government body. A person already engaged in PR at middle management level or someone with a good body of prior on-the-job learning is given the opportunity to become a PR specialist.

Application Criteria Entry is open to degree graduates who have graduated successfully from a relevant Bachelor s degree programme or can demonstrate equivalent, relevant, practical professional or educational experience in a related discipline. Additional Criteria English Language Requirements Applicants from countries with an annual student visa approval rate of at least 80 percent, whose first language is not English, or who come from a country where the language of instruction in schools is not English, are required to provide evidence of having passed an NZQA approved English Proficiency Assessment, or one of the following tests of English language competence in accordance with the NZQA rules below: X IELTS test V Academic score of 6, with no band score lower than 5.5 X TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT) V Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE) X TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) V Score of 60 (with a writing score of 20) X University of Cambridge English Examinations V FCE, or FCE for schools, or CAE, or CPE with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill X NZCEL V Level 4 with the Academic endorsement X Pearson Test of English (Academic) V PtoE (Academic) score of 50 X City & Guilds IESOL V B2 Communicator with a score of 66 Applicants from countries with an annual student visa approval rate below 80 per cent, whose first language is not English, or who come from a country where the language of instruction in schools is not English must provide evidence that they: a) Have gained NCEA Level 3 and met New Zealand University Entrance requirements or b) Hold a bachelor s degree of at least 3 years from New Zealand, Australia, Canada, The Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States of America or c) Have achieved a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults, CELTA or d) Have achieved one of the English Language competence tests specified above Selection Criteria Right of entry into programm
