Entry requirements
University Entrance - NCEA Level 3 including:
* Three subjects at level 3 including: - Physics with a minimum of 14 credits - Calculus with a minimum of 14 credits, and - one other subject with a minimum of 14 credits from the list of approved subjects* and
* Literacy - 10 credits at Level 2 or above, made up of 5 credits in reading, 5 credits in writing and
* Numeracy - 10 credits at Level 1 or above (specified achievement standards, or unit standards 26623, 26626, 26627). * NZQA approved subjects: see http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualifications-standards/awards/university entrance OR
Equivalent academic qualifications which may include University Bursary with 45% or more in both Physics and Calculus or Algebra; equivalent Cambridge score, equivalent International Baccalaureate.
Applicants seeking admission into the Asset Management Degree Apprenticeship will also be required to be in suitable employment arrangements. Employment suitability will be determined by the provider in consultation with the workplace and learner.
Requirements for students who use English as an additional language (EAL)
EAL students must meet the minimum academic entry requirements and have achieved an overall band score (Academic) of 6.0 IELTS, (writing and speaking score no less than 6.0 and reading and listening bands no less than 5.5) or equivalent.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
Graduates will demonstrate an in-depth and breadth of knowledge and practical skills for employment as an Engineering Technologist within a specialist area of their chosen major of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Graduates will have the ability to apply analytical skills and knowledge of technological principles and physical processes to solve broadly defined engineering problems.
