About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification will provide Aotearoa New Zealand with graduates who have the skills and knowledge to operate under indirect supervision to deliver exercise instruction for individuals within the general population.
Graduates will operate within a framework of health and wellness in relation to individual, group or community needs and contribute to the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Graduates can adapt and deliver appropriate exercise programmes and will have knowledge of exercise training principles and concepts.
Graduates will be eligible to register with the New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Academic Requirements: 40 credits NCEA Level 1, including: 10 Literacy credits and 10 Numeracy credits OR New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Sports, Nutrition and Health Promotion Pathway) Level 3 or equivalent OR If you have undertaken examinations other than NCEA (e.g. International Baccalaureate, Cambridge Examination), Ara will assess your qualification for academic entry equivalency. English Requirements: IELTS 5.5 Academic (no lower than 5.0 in any subtest)
