What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification provides the automotive industry with individuals who can service general automotive systems.

The qualification is designed for people who are beginning a career in the automotive industry or people intending to enter the industry.

Graduates will benefit by having a qualification which recognises the skills and knowledge in the automotive industry that support improved job performance and enhance future learning and employment opportunities.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to work in entry-level positions under limited supervision.

Academic Requirements This programme has open entry. English language requirements apply. Additional Requirements Must be physically able to undertake the practical components of the programme. To successfully complete this programme of study as a Managed Apprentice, candidates must be employed in the Automotive industry at time of study. Candidates must enter into a 3-way training agreement between the candidate, employer, and Ara. English Requirements If English is not the applicant s first language, applicants will need to provide a result from a test or qualification on the acceptable alternatives English Proficiency Outcomes Chart. Applicants who do not have evidence of English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, may contact Ara for an assessment. IELTS 5.0 Academic (no lower than 5.0 in any subtest). Additional Information Recommended to hold, or be working towards a class 1 driver s licence
