About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The degree will produce graduates who meet the Nursing Council of New Zealand Competencies for registered nurse scope of practice (2012), and who can critically interpret and apply their knowledge to constantly changing healthcare context.

Learners will have the opportunity to explore the diverse environments and relevant cultural understandings that nurses work within from hospitals, rest homes and health clinics to private practices and community care agencies. The programme helps develop abilities with critical thinking, clinical reasoning and problem solving and applying comprehensive health assessments.

A flexible delivery approach is available for students which involves a combination of on-campus and online learning activities. Due to limited availability of clinical placements in Christchurch learners may be required to complete a clinical component outside of Christchurch.
