Entry requirements

Whare Mairanga Terms and Conditions of Enrolment and any relevant conditions specified by the Ministry of Education, the Education and Training Act 2020 and the Tertiary Commission. Uri should be:
- 18 years or older;
- A New Zealand citizen (which includes citizens of Cook Island, Niue and Tokelau);
- A New Zealand resident currently living in New Zealand;
- An Australian citizen currently living in New Zealand;
- An Australian permanent resident who has a returning residents visa and is currently living in New Zealand;

Uri must meet the following admission criteria to be admitted to the programme:
- Proficiency in spoken and written reo Māori.
- An undergraduate degree and/or 2 or more years relevant experience in a leadership kaupapa within an educational context or within a community, marae, hapū and/or iwi.
- An endorsement or support letter/video from a kura, community organisation, marae, hapū and/or iwi that outlines the ability to complete the programme and any support that can be provided to uri.
- Special admission may be granted to uri who do not meet the admission criteria above but can demonstrate sufficient evidence of skills, knowledge and/or education within a mana motuhake leadership context. Any special admission applications will be approved by the Pou Mairanga or delegate.

- Uri granted special admission may be required to meet specific conditions for their continued enrolment. This will be communicated in writing to uri at the time of granting the admission. Conditions may include provisional admission requirement to complete pre- or co-requisites; and/or requirement to maintain a specified level of achievement.

- He whaitake te mahi hei tātāriki ara whakamana-uara, e whakatere ai i ngā āhuatanga tuatinitini me ngā wero tukituki o te whāngai rauemi me te ahumoni i waenganui i ngā hapori kanorau.
- He whakatinana i ngā hua o te tātāriki hautū ā-Tīpuna, e whakapuāwai ai i te pitomata o ngā hapori kanorau.
