Entry requirements

Academic admission
To be admitted to this micro-credential, all applicants must be at least 16 years of age on the date of the micro-credential commencement for the semester in which they wish to enrol (or provide a completed Early Release Exemption form) and meet the following requirement:

Open Entry if the delegated authority at the business division is satisfied that the applicant has the capability to complete the requirements of the micro-credential.

Special and Discretionary admission
Special and Discretionary admission options are also available as outlined in Section 2.9 of Te Kawa Maiorooro | Educational Regulatory Framework
In assessing whether to grant special or discretionary admission, the primary focus will be on the applicant's ability to demonstrate a likelihood of succeeding in the micro-credential program.
All decisions will be made at the discretion of a Programme Committee or delegate.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Introduction to Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) micro-credential is designed to provide professionals with an introductory understanding of how generative artificial intelligence contributes to driving efficiency and innovation. This credential focuses on theoretical and practical considerations, and applying generative AI technologies may optimise business processes and boost individual communication and productivity. Ākonga will integrate generative AI tools into their workflows, enhance communication, and leverage these technologies to support streamlining operations and overall performance.
