Entry requirements

To be admitted to this micro-credential, all applicants must be at least 16 years of age on the date of the micro-credential commencement for the semester in which they wish to enrol (or provide a completed Early Release Exemption form) and meet the following requirements:

Achievement of NCEA Level 2, including 8 Literacy credits at Level 2 or above and 14 Numeracy credits at Level 1 or above
Or
Successful completion of an approved qualification at Level 3 or above
Or
An equivalent of the above
And
Being employed in the Energy Sector

Special and Discretionary admission
Special and Discretionary admission options are also available as outlined in Section 2.9 of Te Kawa Maiorooro | Educational Regulatory Framework
In assessing whether to grant special or discretionary admission, the primary focus will be on the applicant's ability to demonstrate a likelihood of succeeding in the micro-credential.
All decisions will be made at the discretion of a Programme Committee or delegate.

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this micro-credential is to equip ākonga with the knowledge and skills to identify and analyse environmental factors (internal and external) that impact business operations in the energy sector. Ākonga will learn to utilise models and tools to analyse environmental factors and their impact on business planning, which will ultimately enable them to make informed decisions on business operations.

This micro-credential is important to the upskilling of professionals in the industry, and it is utilised as professional development for their role within the sector.
