About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapy is designed to provide graduates and/or professionals from arts, therapeutic or other clinical fields, with a solid foundation in ARTS therapy knowledge so that they may add ARTS therapy to their existing clinical practices, pursue further training and studies in ARTS Therapy (such as the Master in Creative Arts Therapy (Clinical) and/or develop their practice as community creative arts as therapy facilitators.
The programme provides an entry pathway to the Master of Creative Arts Therapy (Clinical) (MCAT), a programme designed to extend and deepen a student's knowledge and skills by building on attainment in the principal subjects of the creative ARTS and psychotherapy.
The MCAT (Clinical) builds on the successful outcomes of the Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapy programme and/or on qualifications and experience offered by students who hold equivalent qualifications in related fields and who have significant arts therapy experience.
The low residency, blended delivery mode provides flexibility for students in the workforce or travelling from around New Zealand.
