Entry requirements
This micro-credential is open to international students who meet the following criteria.
Candidates must:
a) be 14 years or older
b) possess a visa to stay in New Zealand legally, however a student visa is not
required.
c) be competent in Level 1 Numeracy and Literacy or equivalent
d) have passed Kiwi College Elementary Training Scheme (Level 1) or
e) demonstrate English language skills in the CEFR A2 range.
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide students in New Zealand with the
basic skills and knowledge of commercial espresso coffee equipment and the
preparation, technique, method and presentation of espresso beverages, along with
preparing and presenting pressed and filtered coffee for service.
This micro-credential is intended to provide basic skills to enable students to seek
employment as a barista.
This micro-credential will assist employees involved in the hospitality industry to
upskill and gain a NZQA-accredited micro-credential.
