workplace for practical application.
* Adequate literacy and numeracy skills to comprehend
and engage with programme content.
Special Admission:
* Applicants without formal qualifications may be admitted
based on their work experience and readiness, as
assessed through an interview process.

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide a formal credential to recognise the skills and knowledge attained by learners/ākonga as they enter leadership roles across a range of People, Food and Fibre industries in Aotearoa New Zealand. The micro-credential provides a training scaffold to support and upskill potential, new, or existing leaders, including seasonal workers and career changers, and workers in supporting industries, into leadership roles.

This micro-credential responds to the urgent need to increase the number of emerging leaders in People, Food and Fibre industries through a focused component on self-leadership, ensuring learners/ākonga are able to develop strategies for supporting personal wellbeing and resilience, including those caused by seasonal and environmental stressors. In addition, employees and learners will develop interpersonal skills and engagement strategies, complying with organisational policies and procedures, to effectively lead people.
