Core Construction of Forestry Roads (Micro-Credential)

It is expected that providers refer to the below entry requirements when developing programmes:
* Pre-requisite for unit standard 30919 include unit standards 17769 and 22994.
* Candidates must hold the class of driving licence and any licence endorsement appropriate to the vehicle being driven to be assessed for the standards mapped to Learning Outcomes 1 and 2.
* It is expected that ākonga/learners for this micro-credential will be employed in the forestry earthworks industry. The provider may be able to assist with placement for those not already in employment.
Literacy and numeracy
* Ākonga/learners require sufficient levels of literacy and numeracy to allow them to read and understand workplace documents, complete necessary calculations and complete assessments tasks.
* Providers will support ākonga/learners during delivery to ensure they have the level of literacy and numeracy required.

Language Proficiency
* For ākonga/learners who do not have English as their first language, the level of English language skills required is equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5 in General or Academic, with no band score lower than 5.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide ākonga/learners with formal recognition and credentialisation of the skills and knowledge required for core construction of forestry roads in a forestry earthworks context in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The micro-credential will cater to ākonga/learners that are already experienced in forestry earthworks core construction who wish to have their skills formally recognised.

This micro-credential is part of a training framework endorsed by the forestry earthworks industry and provides a training opportunity for those new to the industry, or for ākonga/learners in other primary industries. This micro-credential may be used in programmes leading to Forestry Operations qualifications at Level 3.
