What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the New Zealand real estate industry with people who have in-depth operational and strategic knowledge to lead staff professionally and ethically; and can lead a real estate business as a principal to ensure compliance within the current regulatory environment.

This qualification is designed for people seeking to become an Agent in the real estate industry.

Graduates will have met the educational requirements and met the licensing requirements will be able to operate as an Agent of a real estate business and supervise licensees under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

To be eligible for entry, learners must hold a National Certificate in Real Estate (Branch Manager) (Level 5) [Ref:1288], or a New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate (Level 5) [Ref: 3580], or a current, or suspended (within the last three years), Branch Manager licence. The learner is not required to hold a Branch Manager licence; however, the learner must hold a valid Salesperson licence issued by the Real Estate Authority and have completed the required three years' work experience in real estate to be eligible. They must also be in an employment arrangement in a role that will enable the learner to achieve the graduate profile outcomes. To gain entry onto programmes leading to this qualification, international students must meet the English Proficiency outcomes for International Students for whom English is not their first language as set out in Appendix 2 of the NZQF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2013 (Version 2).
