About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is:
- To provide the hospitality sector with competent employees who are able to work in junior positions in a commercial hospitality workplace.
- To provide a credential for individuals employed or will be employed in junior work roles, to support their employment opportunities in a commercial hospitality workplace.
- To establish standards of professional practice for hospitality product and service delivery to provide customers with confidence in a range of hospitality environments.
Graduates will be able to operate under supervision.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

a) For those Under 20 years * NCEA Level 1 or * Demonstrate an ability to study at tertiary level, e.g., successful completion of the New Zealand Certificate in Hospitality (Level 2). b) For those over 20 years * Demonstrate an ability to study at tertiary level, e.g., successful completion of the New Zealand Certificate in Hospitality (Level 2). Students must comply with the below funding conditions: * Age 16 years or above at the time of commencing study; * NZ Citizen, permanent resident.
