About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of the Graduate Diploma in Tourism Innovation qualification is to provide the tourism sector, and hospitality and service industries, with graduates with entrepreneurial skills and knowledge who will be able to identify, research and develop opportunities and innovations that will enhance business objectives, growth, market positioning and performance. This includes tourism-focused innovations for destination development, establishing a new enterprise, exploring niche markets, and developing new products and services.

Graduates will be able to support the development and implementation of business solutions, innovations and ventures that enhance economic, social, environmental and cultural growth, capability and sustainability, across a range of organisations, roles, communities and destinations within the Aotearoa New Zealand and global hospitality, tourism and service industries, as well as wider trade and enterprise sectors.

Minimum requirements

An undergraduate degree; or a 2-year Level 7 or above diploma in a related discipline or equivalent; or a minimum 3 years equivalent relevant experience. Evidence of English language competency where English is not a first language.
