Entry requirements

This qualification does not entitle graduates to legally perform prescribed electrical work. Any prescribed electrical work must be undertaken by a person who has been registered and licensed under the Electricity Act 1992. Prescribed electrical work is defined in Schedule 1 of the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification provides the automotive engineering industry with highly skilled technicians who have attained the knowledge and skills required to safely and effectively diagnose and repair faults that are uncommon or complex in electric vehicle systems. Electric vehicles include battery electric or hybrid electric, vehicles or machines.

This qualification is designed for experienced automotive engineering technicians working, or intending to work in an advanced technical role within an electric vehicle automotive context.

Graduates may have some responsibility for leadership in the business and for the overall performance of the workshop. Graduates of this qualification will not be recognised as manufacturer-specific technicians.
