About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the hotel industry with people who can work immediately as operators, supervisors, team leaders or departmental managers or leaders within a hotel or accommodation environment. Work readiness is ensured through a compulsory full time paid internship.
The qualification will benefit the community by enhancing operator requirements and entrepreneurial knowledge within the hotel and accommodation sector.
Graduates will be able to work autonomously in a range of dynamic hotel and accommodation environments with responsibilities for the management, development and learning of others.

Minimum requirements

To be eligible for entry, applicants must have met the following requirements: * Numeracy - 10 credits at level 1 or above * 48 Level 2 or above credits across 4 approved subjects which must include 8 literacy credits (4 reading & 4 writing) If English is a second language applicants must haven an IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6 with no band score lower than 5.5 and 6.0 in speaking. Applicants not meeting the entry criteria may be considered on a case by case basis by the Academic Director. Consideration will be given to those with appropriate and evidenced previous academic history, prior work experience and life skills experience.
