What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the General Aviation sector of the aviation industry with graduates who have attained sufficient operational and theoretical knowledge and practical skills to operate small single or multi-engine aircraft as commercial pilots independently or with another pilot, and/or associated support staff in flight planning and aircraft operations.
This qualification is suitable for people seeking to gain a private pilot licence and commercial pilot licence, or those who already hold a private pilot licence.
The qualification has two elective strands for pilots to specialise in flying either small single or multi-engine aeroplanes, or helicopters.
Graduates will meet the eligibility requirements to operate as commercial pilots, including the privileges of the private pilot licence, under the appropriate Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAANZ) rules for General Aviation.

Learners to be 18 years of age before the date of PPL and CPL flight examinations. Successfully complete the ADAPT trainee pilot pre-screening test Hold NCEA Level 2 or equivalent Hold aviation class 1 medical certificate Meet Fit and Proper person requirements of CAANZ in addition International students must be 18 years of age or over An IELTS score 5.5 or higher Meet minimum English language proficiency requirements
