About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is intended for learners of English as an additional language who wish to increase their English language proficiency for general communication.

Graduates will have the language skills required to communicate independently and effectively in familiar and some less familiar situations with fluency and flexibility in community/societal settings.

This qualification allows the community to recognise the proficiency level at which the graduate can use English for social and transactional purposes.

Minimum requirements

Tauira will be required to take an online placement test and attend a pre-enrolment interview with the kaiako to determine whether the intended programme of study is appropriate to their needs. If they fulfil the required level of English language (approximately 5.5 IELTS band level or CEFR level High B-1)
