What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide New Zealand workplaces with people who have the foundation health and safety skills, knowledge, and attributes to participate in workplace health and safety.
Graduates will have general skills and knowledge of the health and safety requirements and responsibilities and how these are associated with a workplace.
Graduates will be able to apply these skills under limited supervision.
This qualification is intended for people who are intending to work, or working within a New Zealand workplace.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Entry will be in accordance the Toi Ohomai Regulatory Framework and QMS. In addition applicants must have NCEA Level 1 with 10 credits in Numeracy and 10 credits in Literacy, OR equivalent knowledge and skills; and evidence of English language competency where English is not a first language. Detailed Requirements For international applicants who come from non-English speaking backgrounds, an IELTS General or Academic score of 5.0 with no band score lower than 5.0, or an equivalent relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in NZQF-related rules (Rule 18). For domestic applicants for whom English is not their first language, evidence of language competency may be required.
