What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide library and information service providers with people who have the practical skills to support the delivery of core library services.

The qualification is designed to meet the training and education needs of a wide range of learners who want a career in libraries and information centres.

Graduates will have an understanding of the multicultural community they serve (including Māori and Pacific peoples). They will be able to perform a range of tasks under guidance and/or within accepted library practice. They will have skills in multiple literacies and competence with digital technologies.
