What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification provides the automotive electrical engineering industry with individuals who can work independently and have attained the knowledge and skills required to safely and effectively diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults in a range of vehicles or machines.
The qualification has been designed for individuals who are beginning a career as an automotive electrical technician.
Graduates of this qualification can work independently and may take some responsibility for monitoring the workplace.

Applicants must have achieved: New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 3) [Ref: 3097], or equivalent skills and experience. International students must meet English entry requirements for international students as per Unitec Admission Requirements policy.
