What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification provides the creative industries with people who have a range of audio engineering skills and production techniques to facilitate audio productions across a range of contexts.

Graduates can apply their skills within the creative industries to contribute to cultural, social, and economic outcomes in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

To be admitted to this programme all applicants must be at least 18 years of age on the date the programme starts, and meet one of the following requirements: 1. NCEA Level 2 o Minimum of 12 NCEA credits at Level 2 in each of the four approved subjects 2. Have completed four years of secondary education 3. A recognised, relevant Level 4 qualification Preference will be given to applicants with NCEA Level 3, Merit or Excellence passes in Physics, Mathematics, and Music. Applicants who have attained the age of 20 years on or before the first day of the semester in which study for the programme is to commence and who do not meet the general admission requirements stated above and who believe that they have the level of preparedness for study at this level may apply for special admission. All applicants (international and domestic) for whom English or te reo Maori is not a first language need to provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the programme.
