What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is intended for individuals who wish to develop their skill and knowledge in music.
It provides graduates who have fundamental skills in musical theory, instrumental performance, and basic music technologies relevant to pursuing a career in the music and broader performing arts industries.
Graduates will be able to apply these skills individually and collaboratively to contribute to the cultural, social and economic life of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Entry is open to applicants aged 16 and over at the time of commencing study. Applicants must be proficient in the English language (both written and spoken), and participate in an interview process. Enrolment is subject to approval by the Academic Manager. International learners applying for entry to this programme must have a General or Academic IELTS score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5. ATC New Zealand accepts other internationally recognised tests and other methods, where relevant, of providing acceptable evidence of English language proficiency as listed under rule 18 of NZQF Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules 2013, and in particular the 'Acceptable evidence of English language proficiency' found at:http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/providers-partners/qa-system-for-teos/english-international-students/ Where successful applicants exceed available places on the programme, a waiting list will be maintained. If successful applicants decline acceptance, the next-ranked applicant will be offered a place.
