What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification provides the entertainment, event and screen production industries with technicians who can operate safely, under indirect supervision.
The qualification includes strands that recognise specific knowledge and practical skills in various areas relating to entertainment, event and screen production technology. Graduates of this qualification will have technical skills and knowledge in two of the areas covered by the strands.

Minimum requirements

Application by Academic Qualification (under 20 years of age) Applicants should be 16 years of age, or older, have successfully completed NCEA Level 1 or equivalent, and have achieved a minimum standard of English as demonstrated by a minimum of 8 credits at NCEA Level 1 in English. Special Application (over 20 years of age). Consideration will be given to applicants aged 20 years or older who do not meet the entry criteria if they can demonstrate a history of work, industry experience which in the opinion of the Programme Managers exhibits a likelihood of success in the programme of study. All Applicants All applicants may be required to attend an interview. Preference will be given to applicants with Merit or Excellence passes in maths, physics and music at or the equivalent of, NCEA Level 2 or above.
