What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification provides the heavy automotive engineering industry with individuals who have attained the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively diagnose and repair faults that are commonly encountered on heavy vehicles or machines, including road transport, plant and equipment, agricultural equipment or materials handling contexts.
This qualification is designed for people working in the industry as heavy automotive engineers.
Graduates of this qualification can work independently and may take some responsibility for monitoring the workplace.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Learners must be eligible to undertake industry training organised through MITO, and must be employed in an automotive workshop in a role which enables them to meet the graduate outcomes of the qualification, and have signed an apprenticeship training agreement. Entry is subject to the approval of MITO. This will be determined on the basis of discussion between MITO, the employer and the learner.
