This qualification provides the automotive industry with individuals who can service general automotive systems.
The qualification is designed for people who are beginning a career in the automotive industry or people intending to enter the industry.
Graduates will benefit by having a qualification which recognises the skills and knowledge in the automotive industry that support improved job performance and enhance future learning and employment opportunities.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to work in entry-level positions under limited supervision.

Minimum requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria for admission into the programme: * 40 credits at NCEA level 1 or above. This includes 10 NCEA literacy credits and 10 NCEA numeracy credits at level 1 or above. OR * National Certificate in Motor Industry (Entry Skills) Level 2 OR * Can demonstrate relevant work experience with the approval of the Industry Manager / Programme Leader. Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents.
