This qualification is intended for individuals aspiring to or engaged in a career in adult, tertiary or vocational teaching or training who have a qualification or equivalent experience in their trade, vocation or other primary discipline. It represents the expected sector baseline qualification for a professional adult and tertiary teaching practitioner.
Graduates of this qualification have the skills and capabilities to provide high quality, contemporary and culturally appropriate teaching and learning in a range of teaching or training contexts.

Minimum requirements
Academic Entry Requirements None. Domestic Language Entry Requirements If English or Maori is not the applicant's first language, applicants will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent. International English Language Entry Requirements International applicants will need an IELTS (Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent. Other Entry Requirements Access to a minimum of six individual adult learners across the duration of the programme in an authentic teaching or training context - applicant responsibility to secure.
