About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the environmental management sector with individuals who have in-depth skills and knowledge required to work in this field.

This qualification is targeted at people who have some expertise in an area of environmental studies and wish to develop further.

Aotearoa/ New Zealand will benefit from having graduates who have specific knowledge of ecosystems, and how they are influenced by human activities, allowing for informed environmental management.
Graduates will be capable of working autonomously.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Applicants are required to have gained The New Zealand Diploma in Environmental Management (Level 5) with a strand in Terrestrial; or Equivalent. Applicants for whom English is not a first language must have an IELTS Academic score of 6.0, with no band score lower than 5.5; or an accepted international equivalence. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements but whose skills, education or work experience indicate that they have a reasonable chance of success, may gain admission at the discretion of the Programme Leader or designated nominee.
