What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the environmental management sector with individuals who have in-depth skills and knowledge required to work in this field.
This qualification is targeted at people who have some expertise in an area of environmental studies and wish to develop further.
Aotearoa/ New Zealand will benefit from having graduates who have specific knowledge of ecosystems, and how they are influenced by human activities, allowing for informed environmental management.
Graduates will be capable of working autonomously.

Minimum requirements
NZ2964 New Zealand Diploma in Environmental Management (Terrestrial or Conservation Operations Strand) (Level 5) OR an equivalent qualification An applicant over the age of 20 may be admitted at the discretion of the Head of School, where the applicant demonstrates the capability to undertake and complete the programme of study. All applicants must demonstrate an acceptable level of English language fluency prior to acceptance in the programme. For international students, ways in which English language fluency may be demonstrated include the following: successful study of a programme in which English was the language of instruction (subject to the conditions in EIT's Database for English Language Proficiency (DELP)) completion of a New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 4 Academic) IELTS Academic score of 6, with no band score lower than 5.5, achieved in a single test within the two years preceding enrolment accepted international equivalents to the above IELTS scores (see equivalency tables in the DELP).
