About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the health sector with enrolled nurses who provide nursing care under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse or other registered health practitioner in a range of settings including acute care, rehabilitation, and mental health in the community and/or in hospitals.

This qualification is designed for school leavers, and people already employed, or intending to be employed in the health sector.

This qualification meets the Nursing Council of New Zealand requirements for application for registration in the enrolled nurse scope of practice.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Applicants under 20 years of age require NCEA Level 2 which must include 12 credits in level 1 Mathematics or equivalent. Applications over 20 years of age with no formal academic qualifications must provide evidence of literacy, numeracy and an ability to study at the appropriate level. IELTS Academic score of 6.5 in all bands (or equivalent including TOEFL). In addition to this international applications under the age of 20 must have NCEA equivalency.
