What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide people with the skills, capabilities, knowledge and attributes needed to progress and succeed in their field of study or employment pathway.
This qualification is for people intending to pursue further qualifications in their chosen field of study or employment pathway at New Zealand Qualifications Framework Level 4 or above.
The qualification acknowledges the primacy of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in programme design and delivery.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Level 1 NCEA with 10 Literacy credits and 10 Numeracy credits. Where applicants do not meet entry requirements, they may gain special admission if Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology is satisfied the applicant is capable of meeting the academic requirements. Domestic applicants aged 20 years or above who do not meet the academic entry requirements, bur whose skills, education or work experiences indicate that they have a chance of success, may be eligible for special admission. IELTS Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5 or completed NZ Certificate in English Language Level 3 with the Academic endorsement, or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in NZQF related Rules (Rule 18) - The Table. Domestic applicants for whom English is not their first language evidence of language competency may be required.
