What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide people with the academic skills, capabilities, knowledge and attributes needed to prepare for higher level education or employment.
This qualification is for people intending to pursue further qualifications in their chosen field of study or employment pathway at New Zealand Qualifications Framework Level 5 or above.
The qualification acknowledges the primacy of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in programme design and delivery.

Minimum requirements
A minimum of 40 credits at NCEA Level 2 across four subjects Literacy-10 credits at Level 2 or above, made up of 5 credits in reading and 5 credits in writing. Numeracy-10 credits at Level 1 or above, made up of achievement standards-specified achievement standards available through a range of subjects, or unit standards-package of three numeracy unit standards (26623, 26626, 26627-all three required, or by way of interview with the programme manager.
