About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide people with the academic skills, capabilities, knowledge and attributes needed to prepare for higher level education or employment.

This qualification is for people intending to pursue further qualifications in their chosen field of study or employment pathway at New Zealand Qualifications Framework Level 5 or above.

The qualification acknowledges the primacy of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in programme design and delivery.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Applicants will be guided when selecting their pathway of study. Applicants shld demonstrate an ability to succeed in tertiary study shown by: NCEA Lv2 or NZ Cert in Foundation Skills Lv2. 12 NCEA Lv2 English and/or Literacy credits. Interview - applicants will be asked a set of questions aligned to the programme. Applicants who do not meet the academic entry criteria above may be admitted to the programme if they are able to demonstrate one of more of the following: Equivalent knowledge. Previous and relevant life skills or work experience. Other formal or informal study such as to suggest likelihood of successful programme completion. EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION COURSE - Applicants over 17 years of age must receive clearance from a police vetting check. Applicants under 17 years of age are required to provide a character attestation from a School Principal. Applicants whose first language is not English are required to provide evidence of having passed such tests of English language competence as details in Policy and Procedure English Language Proficiency. Applicants need a score of 6.5 across all 4 areas to be eligible for the Nursing Destination programme
