What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide people with the academic skills, capabilities, knowledge and attributes needed to prepare for higher level education or employment.
This qualification is for people intending to pursue further qualifications in their chosen field of study or employment pathway at New Zealand Qualifications Framework Level 5 or above.
The qualification acknowledges the primacy of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in programme design and delivery.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
All applicants must have achieved 40 credits NCEA Level 2, including 10 Level 1 Literacy credits and 10 Level 1 Mathematic credits; OR successfully completed the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3); OR be able to demonstrate skills for tertiary study (including literacy and numeracy) that have been acquired through study, work and/or life experience. International Students or for whom English is not a first language must attain an IELTS score of at least 5.5 with no bank score lower than 5; or an equivalent score from a recognized alternative English proficiency test.
