What can I expect out of this qualification?

The Bachelor of Animation with Honours aims to foster student abilities to contribute to, and advance the craft of animated storytelling; 2 provide our students with the reflective skills, technical abilities, motivations experiences and opportunities to develop their own personal artistic voice 3 develop students' capacity for innovative, transdisciplinary thinking 4 prepare our graduates for the interpersonal, procedural, organisational and business realities of the professional world 5 provide our students with a cutting edge, industry aligned curriculum 6 develop students cultural awareness, awareness of own cultural identities, and abilities to contribute to society, within the context of animation and related storytelling media, and including tikanga Maori and New ZealandAoteroa contexts; 7 develop critical thinkers who can effectively synthesise contextual knowledge with practice, and are equipped for further study at a post-graduate level and, 8 contribute to the global animation research environment through the development of independent reflective practitioners, capable of evaluating knowledge, planning and conducting original research, analysing results, and communicating their findings to the satisfaction of subject experts.

Minimum requirements

All applicants must provide evidence of creative abilities and potential in the form of a portfolio International students who have English as a Second or Other Language, must have within the preceding two years, achieved or surpassed at least one of the English proficiency outcomes listed below: ? IELTS test: Score of 6 with no band score lower than 5.5 ? TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT): Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE) ? TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 79 or higher (with a writing score of 20) ? University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations: FCE or CAE with a score of 52 or higher ? NZCEL: Level 4 with the Academic endorsement To be considered for general admission, applicants must: ? Hold NCEA University Entrance or equivalent CIE/IB grades (preferably including a minimum of 24 NCEA credits at Level 3 in practical art, design or technology subjects), or; ? An appropriate qualification from an overseas secondary school or tertiary institution, deemed by Animation College to be sufficient for admission into a bachelor programme, or; ? have successfully completed an Animation College Qualification, Level 6 or higher.
