What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide Christian churches, agencies and community organisations with people who are able to evaluate and deliver ministry programmes within their specialist area(s) and lead a wide range of Christian operations.
This qualification is stranded in order to recognise the specific knowledge and skills required in a variety of occupations and contexts in Christian churches agencies, community organisation and not-for profit organisations.
Graduates will benefit by having a qualification which recognises their broad understanding of theology and biblical foundations, evaluation, strategic thinking, and applied Christian leadership skills; enhancing their employment opportunities and/or ability to work in a voluntary capacity.
This qualification focuses on the application of the principles of theology, biblical foundations and ministry in a community of practice through the delivery of programmes and is targeted at individuals who are ready for positions of leadership in a variety of roles. This qualification is also targeted at current practitioners who want to upskill in a particular area of management and/or leadership.
Graduates will be capable of working autonomously within established parameters with some responsibility for the management of learning and performance of others.

Minimum requirements
NCEA Level 3 with * Three subjects at Level 3, made up of 14 credits each, in three approved subjects * Literacy: 10 credits at Level 2 or above, made up of: - 5 credits in reading - 5 credits in writing Numeracy: 10 credits at Level 1 or above, made up of: - Achievement standards specified 11 achievement standards available through a range of subjects, or - Unit standards package of three numeracy unit standards (26623, 26626, 26627 all three required). NCEA Equivalence can include: * UE, A or B Bursary/Overseas equivalent qualifications, including IB and CIE or HSC (Australia)/Other NZQA L3 certificates in relevant disciplines to Laidlaw programmes. The following may be accepted as equivalent: 1. Reference/support/documentation from employer 2. Evidence of level of academic achievement or a portfolio of work for home-schooled students. Where an applicant is not eligible for direct an entry assessment will be required which includes a literacy test reviewed by an academic staff member or for Distance Learning applicants, writing roughly 500 words testimony. Applicants must meet both the academic and English language requirements for this programme. The English Language requirements for this programme is: IELTS (academic) 6.0 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in all bands. An entrance test may be administered OR * Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 50 OR * equivalent (see www.nzqa.govt.nz/ about-us/our-role/legislation/nzqa-rules/ nzqf-related-rules/the-table/). A waiver for the IELTS may be granted: * if the applicant can provide clear evidence of completion of a tertiary qualification of at least three years duration with English as the language of instruction in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the United States.
