What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification is for individuals who are existing education support/ teacher aides or seeking an education support/ teacher aide position.
Graduates will be able to work under broad guidance, and effectively support learning from early childhood to tertiary and community education.

Minimum requirements

Academic Entry Requirements: Open entry Domestic Language Entry Requirements If English or Maori is not the applicant's first language, applicants will need an IELTS (General or Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent. International English Language Entry Requirements International applicants will need an IELTS (General or Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent. Other Admission Requirements: Applicants must: * be at least 17 years of age * be in paid or voluntary employment for at least five hours a week and be under the supervision of a qualified teacher within a school or other education support setting. * be police vetted by their host school to the requirements of the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014. This programme is based on practising in a New Zealand context.
