What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification is intended for education practitioners who want to develop the literacy and numeracy skills of adult learners by embedding those skills into community, vocational or workplace programmes. It is a non-specialist introduction to embedding literacy and numeracy into adult and tertiary education and training.
Graduates of this qualification will have skills and knowledge related to the basics of embedded literacy and numeracy design, facilitation, assessment and evaluation.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
There are no academic entry requirements. English Language Entry Requirements If English or Maori is not the applicant's first language, applicants will need an IELTS (General or Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent. International English Language Entry Requirements International applicants will need an IELTS (General or Academic) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5, or equivalent. Other Entry Requirements Access to 40 hours of work-based learning in an adult or tertiary teaching setting and a minimum of two adult learners for at least three separate learning sessions. Any applicants working with akonga under the age of 18 will require a safety check to comply with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014. These requirements are the responsibility of akonga to secure.
