About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the organic primary industry sector with graduates who have the skills and knowledge to implement and monitor a production plan relevant to either crop production or livestock production activities in an organic primary production operation.
This qualification is ideally suited to learners who are experienced workers in the organic primary industry sector.
Learners will benefit by having an organic production qualification within a training pathway that recognises progression through the primary industry, as well as increased skills and knowledge acquisition to enable improved employment performance.
The organic primary industry sectors will benefit by having staff with the skills and knowledge to contribute to more efficient and effective operations.
Graduates will be able to work in a self-managed capacity and may have some responsibility for the performance of others.

Minimum requirements
Open Entry if the delegated authority at the campus/site is satisfied that the applicant has the capability to complete the requirements of the programme. International applicants are required to have an IELTS score of 5.5 (general or academic) with no individual band lower than 5 from one test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules.
