About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to recognise the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centred support in the health and wellbeing sectors.
The graduates will benefit by gaining recognition of transferable skills and knowledge valued across the health and wellbeing sector, and the specific skills and knowledge required to perform a role within the sector.
The community will benefit through the provision of high quality health and wellbeing services by individuals who are trained to support people, whānau and family and the wider community.
This qualification is stranded to recognise the specific skills and knowledge required for a range of roles and responsibilities in the health and wellbeing sector.
Graduates will be capable of working under limited supervision.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the start of the programme. It is recommended that students enrolling in the programme have completed the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2) [Ref. 2469]. Students will be required to undergo initial criminal record check and ongoing checks to ensure they are a fit and proper person to provide support in the health and wellbeing sectors English language entry requirements: Applicants must have sufficient competence in the English language to undertake the programme which is taught and assessed in English. International Students Students whose first language is not English must provide evidence of competency in English language equivalent to IELTS General or Academic score of 5, with no band score lower than 5; or equivalent as per NZQF Approvals and Accreditation rules 2018 or score in NZSE's internal English Language Proficiency Assessment, which can be undertaken until 31 December 2018. International students must hold a valid study visa to enrol in this programme.
