What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to recognise the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centred support in the health and wellbeing sectors.
The graduates will benefit by gaining recognition of transferable skills and knowledge valued across the health and wellbeing sector, and the specific skills and knowledge required to perform a role within the sector.
The community will benefit through the provision of high quality health and wellbeing services by individuals who are trained to support people, whānau and family and the wider community.
This qualification is stranded to recognise the specific skills and knowledge required for a range of roles and responsibilities in the health and wellbeing sector.
Graduates will be capable of working under limited supervision.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

Minimum Age: Applicants must be aged a minimum of 18 years old at the start of the programme. Academic Requirements: Attainment of the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 2) OR An equivalent qualification or experience in the Health and Wellbeing sector. This must be evidenced by a Curriculum Vita that provides information about the nature of work undertaken by the applicant and level of responsibility and accountability. This will be a case by case evaluation for each applicant. General Requirements: ?Being physically able to complete the work experience requirements which include safe moving of persons according to workplace organisational procedures. ?Willingness to work with the older person ?Provision of evidence of being vaccinated against COVID-19 that meets the requirements of work placement organisations. Access to healthcare organisations for compulsory workplace experience: Criminal Record Check International Students As per above, PLUS: International students must have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. English Language Certification: General or Academic IELTS 5.0 overall (with no band less than 5.0) or equivalent internationally recognised test. Certification must be no more than two years old and from one test.
