About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide Aotearoa New Zealand with people who can carry out a broad range of support roles as a project team member and take responsibility for some parts of a project(s).

This qualification will benefit Aotearoa New Zealand by increasing project success through consistent application of project management skills.

Graduates of this qualification will be able to support the management of a project(s) under broad guidance, in accordance with ngā kaupapa o te Tiriti o Waitangi (the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi), and in a multi-cultural environment.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

NCEA Level 2, or NZ Certificate in Business (Introduction to Team Leadership) (Level 3), or NZ Certificate in Foundation Studies (Level 2), or A qualification at Level 2 or above, with evidence of literacy and numeracy abilities equivalent to NCEA (Level 1), or Evidence of relevant knowledge and experience, including literacy and numeracy abilities equivalent to NCEA (Level 2). In the latter two situations the applicant is required to participate in an enrolment interview with the purpose of verifying the evidence. English Requirements If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills as listed below. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment. IELTS 5.5 Academic (no lower than 5.0 in any subtest). For acceptable alternatives refer to the English Proficiency Outcomes Chart. Note: Students who have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills. The Dean may apply discretion to these regulations in exceptional circumstances.
