About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide Aotearoa New Zealand with people who have business knowledge and skills that can be applied in a range of operational business contexts.

Graduates will be able to contribute to the achievement of business operational objectives, through the application of knowledge and skills, in an ethical and inclusive manner, in accordance with ngā kaupapa o te Tiriti o Waitangi (the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi), and in a multi-cultural environment.

The qualification includes strands that allow graduates to apply knowledge and skills in a range of specialised business operational contexts. Some strands can lead to further credentialing by professional bodies.

Minimum requirements

The following academic entry criteria apply. Domestic: NCEA Level 3 OR Equivalent academic achievement OR Completion of Year 12, plus an interview OR On a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Dean International Applicants: Graduated high school, plus an interview OR NZCEL Level 4 OR On a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Dean. English Proficiency: Applicants for who English is a Second Language must prove English Proficiency to ensure the best chance of success within the programme. English language proficiency can be evidenced by any International English test score listed on NZQA Table English Proficiency Outcomes of Appendix 2 of the NZQA Programme Approval and Accreditation Rules OR meets NZQA's criteria for existing English proficiency.
