About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide Aotearoa New Zealand with people who can carry out a broad range of accounting support services to work in a range of accounting support roles to support a business entity's objectives.
Graduates of this qualification will be able to provide accounting support services under broad guidance, in accordance with ngā kaupapa o te Tiriti o Waitangi (the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi), and in a multi-cultural environment.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Applicants are required to meet 1 of the Academic requirements AND the requirements for Computer Literacy AND English and Numeracy. 1. Academy Requirement a. Hold a NZ Cert (Level 2) that includes core papers in business admin and technology and/or accounting or business focus; or b. have 40 credits from a NZ qualification at level 2 and/or above; or c. Hold a relevant level 3 NZ qualification in business; or d. Applicants who do not meet the minimum academic requirements may be admitted subject to evidence of work and life experience that demonstrate they can complete the programme of study successfully. 2. Computer literacy requirement B sufficiently computer literate to produce documents and perform financial calculations using the Microsoft office suite of programmes to create accounts, spreadsheets, reports and presentations. As part of enrolment, applicants may be required to demonstrate their computer skills in accessing information from the internet and using the Microsoft office suite of programmes to process information.Applicants who do not have sufficient computer literacy may be eligible to enrol in the NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills L2 (with a focus on Business Admin) or the NZ Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) Level 3, before stair-casing into this programme later. 3. English literacy and numeracy requirement Be sufficiently competent in the English language, literacy and numeracy to complete the programme of study successfully.
