What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is:
- to provide competent employees who are able to work in senior retail or customer service or specialist roles in the retail sector;
- to provide a credential for those individuals who are working in senior retail or customer service or specialist roles, that will support their career opportunities across a range of organisations in the retail sector;
- to provide standards of professional practice for retail sector specialist roles that contribute to improving performance and productivity in the workplace and providing customers with a positive retail experience.

Entry Requirements
Minimum requirements
Academic 40 credits NCEA Level 1, including 10 literacy credits and 10 numeracy credits OR New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 3) English If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills as listed below. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment. IELTS 5.5 Academic (no lower than 5.0 in any subtest). For acceptable alternatives refer to the English Proficiency Outcomes Chart. Note: Students who have achieved NCEA Level 3 University Entrance requirements are not required to provide evidence of English Language Skills.
