What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the apiculture industry with individuals who have the skills and knowledge to work safely and effectively as an assistant beekeeper.

This qualification is for people who are either intending to work, or are working in, the apiculture industry.

Graduates will be able to work under limited supervision.

Minimum requirements

"Open Entry if the delegated authority at the campus/site is satisfied that the applicant has the capability to complete the requirements of the programme. Akonga must be physically capable of meeting the demands of the programme. Any medical conditions which may affect the ability of akonga to participate must be disclosed at the time of application and the delegated authority must be able to provide assurance in relation to health and safety. International applicants are required to have an IELTS score of 5 (general or academic) with no individual band lower than 5 from one test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules."
