What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the tourism industry with individuals who can support and enhance the visitor experience and use their skills and knowledge to strengthen the contribution of tourism to the New Zealand economy.
The qualification will benefit the community by enhancing the experiences of New Zealand's tourism visitors and bringing economic benefits to the country.
Graduates will be able to deliver, and assist in supporting the delivery of, a high-quality visitor experience in the tourism industry, working under broad guidance, and they may also have some responsibility for the performance of others.

Minimum requirements
Applicants must either have attended secondary school for a minimum of four years, or attended secondary school for three years plus at least six months of tertiary training at a minimum of level 3; completed NCEA Level 1 (or equivalent), and attained 40 NCEA credits at level 3 (or equivalent).
