What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the tourism, travel, or aviation industry with individuals who can support and enhance the visitor experience and use their skills and knowledge to strengthen the contribution of tourism to the New Zealand economy.
The qualification will benefit the community by enhancing the experiences of New Zealand's visitors and bringing economic benefits to the country.
Graduates of the Visitor Experience, Tourism and Travel and Aviation strands will be able to engage with, and support visitors in a variety of tourism settings relevant to the strand.

Minimum requirements
Requirements for admission to the organisation and to the course International students To be considered for a course students must meet the following minimum requirements: * 18 years of age on day 1 of their course * 4 years of secondary school or equivalent work experience * English Language Proficiency as outlined below English Language Proficiency (if English is your second language) * IELTS 5.5, No individual band to be under 5.0 * TOEFL 550 * TOEIC 625 * Equivalent qualifications (FCE, CAE, NZCEL, PToE, IESOL, NCEA Level 3) * A 5.5 IELTs equivalent letter from an approved partner English school that has an approved NZQA English language proficiency assessment * Transferring/Graduated from another tertiary training organisation in New Zealand and has passed Pre-entry Test with 80% or more Domestic students To be considered for a course students must meet the following minimum requirements: * Must be at least 17 years of age * Have a minimum credits of NCEA Level 2 (60 credits) plus NCEA Level 1 (20 credits) OR equivalent unit standards, course of study or work experience deemed equivalent * Have successfully passed the entry test and interview * Preferential placements may be given during periods of high demand to applicants who have NCEA level 2, are in Year 13 at secondary school and have held a position of leadership.
