What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is:
- To provide the food and beverage sector with staff competent to work as food servers with advanced skills in restaurants or shift supervisors in a quick-service restaurant.
- To provide a credential for those employed as food servers, that will enhance their employment opportunities across a range of establishments in the hospitality sector.
- To establish standards of professional practice for advanced food and beverage service that can provide customers with confidence in a range of hospitality environments.
The strands in this qualification allow graduates to specialise in an area of food and beverage service.
Graduates will be able to operate as food servers with advanced skills in restaurants or as shift supervisors in a quick-service restaurant.

Minimum requirements
All applicants must: be at least 16 years old at the time the programme commences be able to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level be physically able to complete the programme specific outcomes Applicants for whom English is not a first language must have an IELTS score of 5 with no band score lower than 5; or an accepted international equivalence.
